Gmail tracking without a sales platform attached.
Snov.io's free tracker needs an account on Snov.io's sales platform, and some of its optional features need access to your Google account. MailViewed is a tracker first: you sign in with Google, it never asks Google for permission to read your mail, and it keeps scanner opens out of your numbers.
Three reasons to choose MailViewed over Snov.io
No sales-platform account needed
Snov.io's tracker needs a Snov.io account and asks you to log in to it again about every three weeks. Snov.io says it hopes the free tracker helps more people discover its sales platform. MailViewed needs no account on a sales platform: you just sign in with Google.
No Google permission to read your mail
Some optional features of Snov.io's tracker need access to your Google account, and once you grant it, its privacy policy says it scans new inbox email with automated algorithms. MailViewed never asks Google for permission to read your mail.
Scanner opens kept out of your count
Snov.io's help docs say security bots and privacy features can produce fake opens, and its blog says Apple's privacy protection can inflate open counts. MailViewed filters those out and shows each one on the email.

What you pay for the same features
MailViewed's free plan has no monthly cap on tracked emails; tracking may be paused for bulk, campaign-style sending.
What each one can reach in your Google account
- Sign-in asks only for your basic Google profile: name, email address and profile photo (openid, email, profile). MailViewed keeps just the name and email.
- One optional Gmail permission, send-only, used by Compose and individual copies. It can't read, search or delete mail.
- Stores the subject, recipients, tracked link addresses, who replied and when, and the time, IP address and browser of each open and click. No email bodies.
- Basic tracking needs a Snov.io login. Its extension can reach Gmail and snov.io, and it also asks for Chrome's tabs and cookies permissions, which MailViewed's extension doesn't request.
- Some optional tracker features need access to your Google account. Once you grant it, its privacy policy says it scans new inbox email with automated algorithms, partly to tell whether a reply arrived.
- On a paid plan, CRM sync can save your Gmail emails and the prospect's replies to your Snov.io account.
You want a tracker for your own one-to-one email: sign in with Google, no Google permission to read your mail, scanner opens filtered out, and Pro for $2.99 a month when you want more.
Add to Chrome, it's freeSwitch in about a minute

It's tracked automatically: grey ticks when it sends, green once it's opened, with scanner opens left out.
MailViewed vs Snov.io: common questions
Yes. The tracker needs a Snov.io account and asks you to log in to it again about every three weeks. MailViewed needs no account on a sales platform: you just sign in with Google.
Basic open and click tracking needs only a Snov.io login. Some optional tracker features need access to your Google account, and once you grant it, Snov.io's privacy policy says it scans new inbox email with automated algorithms, partly to tell whether a reply arrived. MailViewed never asks Google for permission to read your mail.
Not that it claims for the tracker. Its help docs say security bots and privacy features can produce fake opens, and its blog says Apple's privacy protection can inflate open counts. MailViewed classifies every load, leaves out scanner opens, including Apple's privacy proxy, and shows them on the email.
Not on the same Gmail account. Two extensions that both handle Gmail's Send button can get in each other's way, and MailViewed isn't built to recognize Snov.io's tracker and step aside for it, so use one tracker at a time. Turn the Snov.io tracker off in Chrome's extensions page first.
Try it on your next email.
Free to start, no branding on what you send, and scanner opens kept out of your numbers.
