Only needed if you downloaded the .zip above. Installing from the Chrome Web Store takes one click and keeps itself updated.

Download & unzip
Click the download button above, then double-click the .zip to unzip it. You'll get a folder called “mailviewed-extension-v0.7.19”.

Open Chrome extensions
In Chrome, go to chrome://extensions (paste it in the address bar and press Enter).

Turn on Developer mode
Flip the “Developer mode” switch in the top-right corner.

Load it
Click “Load unpacked” and select the unzipped MailViewed folder. MailViewed appears in your toolbar.

Sign in to activate
Open mailviewed.com and sign in with Google — this securely links the extension to your account. Then compose in Gmail: you'll see the “Tracking on” pill. Hit Send and watch opens land on your dashboard.

Note: because the extension isn't on the Chrome Web Store yet, Chrome installs it in “developer” mode — that's normal and safe. Once it's published, you'll be able to add it with one click and updates will be automatic.
