Free tracking, with scanner opens filtered out.
TrackMailBox and MailViewed are both free and unbranded. The difference is what counts as an open and what happens to the people you email. TrackMailBox leaves scanner and Apple privacy opens for you to spot, shows recipients' approximate location and keeps their data while your account is open. MailViewed filters those opens out, never locates anyone, and deletes tracking data after 12 months.
Three reasons to choose MailViewed over TrackMailBox
Scanner opens taken out for you
TrackMailBox's own docs say Apple's privacy protection and security scanners cause false opens, and suggest you spot the patterns yourself. MailViewed does that for you on every email and lists the scanner opens it filtered out.
Privacy for the people you email
TrackMailBox turns recipients' IP addresses into an approximate city or country and keeps tracking data while your account is open. MailViewed never locates anyone and deletes tracking data 12 months after sending.
Replies, phone sending and nudges
MailViewed records who replied when you open the conversation in Gmail, can send tracked email from your phone, and on Pro emails you the first time each email is opened and nudges you when an opened email gets no reply.
Feature by feature
What you pay for the same features
MailViewed's free plan has no monthly cap on tracked emails; tracking may be paused for bulk, campaign-style sending.
You want open counts with scanner opens already taken out, privacy for the people you email, tracked email from your phone, and optional Pro extras like inbox alerts, no-reply nudges and export.

MailViewed vs TrackMailBox: common questions
TrackMailBox's documentation describes no automatic filtering of Apple Mail Privacy Protection or security scanners, and suggests you spot those patterns yourself. MailViewed classifies every load, leaves out scanner opens, and lists each scanner open on the email with the reason.
No, by design. MailViewed never turns IP addresses into locations, so the people you email are never located. TrackMailBox shows an approximate city or country from the IP address, and its own blog notes that with Apple's privacy protection that location points to Apple servers, and that Gmail's image proxy can make it less accurate.
Pro ($2.99 a month or $23.99 a year) adds open alerts to your inbox that say who opened, nudges when an opened email gets no reply, per-recipient receipts for group emails, 12 months of history with export, and reports. TrackMailBox doesn't offer inbox alerts or no-reply nudges, and export isn't available there yet.
We don't recommend it. TrackMailBox tracks every email you write by default, and MailViewed doesn't detect TrackMailBox, so it won't step aside on its own and both extensions could try to track the same email. Turn TrackMailBox off in Chrome's extensions page first.
Try it on your next email.
Free to start, no branding on what you send, and scanner opens kept out of your numbers.
