Click the MailViewed icon in Chrome's toolbar (pin it from the puzzle-piece menu if it's hidden) and a small panel opens. It's the extension's whole interface; everything else happens in Gmail itself or in your dashboard. Top to bottom, here's what's in it.

Connection status

In the header, a dot and a word: connected (green) when the extension can reach MailViewed's server, offline (amber) when it can't, checking… while it looks. Offline usually means your internet connection; the extension checks again each time you open the popup.

Track new emails

The master switch, on by default. On, every new compose in Gmail starts with its pill on Tracking on, following your Track opens by default setting. Off, new composes start with tracking off; you can still click the pill in any compose to track that one email. It has no effect on emails you've already sent.

Activity

Your eight most recently active tracked emails, newest activity first. Each row shows the subject, who it went to, and where it stands: ✓ sent, ✓✓ N opens (plus clicks, if any), or ⚠ scanner only when the only loads so far came from a scanner. A 🔥 marks an email someone came back to. Click a row and that email's page opens in your dashboard.

If you haven't paired yet, this area says Sign in to MailViewed to activate tracking; use Open dashboard below it. If the server can't be reached, it says so and asks you to check your connection.

The number on the icon

About once a minute, for every paired account and even with Gmail closed, the extension checks for new activity and shows a desktop notification for new opens and clicks. The green number on the icon counts activity you haven't looked at yet; opening the popup clears it. Both follow your Real-time notifications setting: turn that off in Settings and there are no notifications and no count.

The rest

• Open dashboard → opens app.mailviewed.com in a new tab. Signing in there is also how you pair the extension.
• On the Free plan, a MailViewed Free · Upgrade → pill sits under it, and after your 25th, 50th, 100th, 250th and 500th tracked email a small card congratulates you, once each, and says what Pro adds. Pro accounts see neither.
• API endpoint shows the server address the extension talks to. In the Chrome Web Store build it's fixed to MailViewed's server, so there's nothing to change here.
• The last line is the extension's version and build; include it when you write to support.
