The 7-day Pro trial.
Try every Pro feature free for 7 days. No card, once per account, and your account goes back to Free by itself when it ends.
Where you see Try Pro free for 7 days, you can switch your account to Pro for a week without entering a card. Tracking itself works as it does on Free; what you gain is the Pro set: individual copies for group emails, who-opened on hover in Gmail, open alerts to your inbox, 12 months of history and export, your own templates, Reports and Best send times. The full comparison is in Free vs Pro.
Where the button is
It appears at the moments a Pro feature is locked: on the Pro card of your Billing page, on the locked Reports and Best send times pages, in the locked sections of an email's page and the Templates page, and next to Export my data in Settings. It only shows when your account can actually start a trial, and the line under it says what happens: No card. Back to Free automatically after 7 days.
Who can start one
- Once per account. A trial that has been used is used, whether or not you kept Pro afterwards.
- Not while you're already Pro, paid or complimentary.
- Not on an account that has ever paid for Pro.
- If the button isn't there, one of these applies. If it is there but says Couldn't start the trial just now — try again in a moment, that's a hiccup on our side; try once more.
During the trial
Press the button and the page reloads with Pro on. Your Billing page reads Pro trial · ends <date>. Keep it below and nothing changes., and the sidebar and Settings plan line reads Pro trial · ends <date>. Billing history says nothing has been charged and there are no invoices yet, which is exactly right.
One thing to know: Individual copies for group emails is on by default for Pro accounts, and it needs a one-time, send-only Gmail connection to work. Until you connect, a group email to two or more people in To makes the extension stop and ask: it explains that Gmail isn't connected, links to Connect Gmail in Settings, and lets you either Send as one group email or Keep editing. Your dashboard shows a matching notice with a Connect Gmail button. Connect once, or turn the setting off, and the question goes away. See Group emails: who exactly opened?.
Keeping Pro
To keep Pro, press Keep Pro on the Billing page during the trial (Monthly or Yearly, your choice) and check out as usual. Pro carries on without a gap: your paid period starts from the purchase, and the 14-day money-back guarantee covers that first charge like any other. Buying is the only way the trial ever becomes paid; there's no card on file, so nothing can renew on its own.
When it ends
After 7 days your account goes back to Free by itself: unlimited tracked emails, the ticks in Gmail, bot and scanner filtering, link clicks, Compose and your dashboard all keep working. Shortly after, you get one email, Your MailViewed Pro trial has ended, saying so. Pro-only screens lock again, and the dashboard shows the last 30 days; emails older than that are archived, not deleted, and come back if you upgrade later. Nothing is ever charged unless you choose to buy.
The trial isn't a subscription: there's nothing to cancel and nothing to remember. If Pro isn't for you, let the week run out.
Exact per-person receipts on group emails, who-opened names on the Gmail hover, instant open alerts, full history, and templates with real performance stats — for $2.99/month, or $1.99/month billed yearly.
